Wordpress SQL export Â, †and ™ characters
We’ve been working with Wordpress for years. I’m not sure if anyone has ever had the problem but when you export from SQL you get strange Â, †and ™ charaters. There’s lots of posts online about this problem such as :
http://www.bloggingtips.com/2007/07/20/fixing-the-a-and-ae-problem-in-wordpress/

But we think we’ve actually found the solution. Simply export your data as database.sql (making sure that your database is in UTF8) then open it in notepad as a UTF8 document and your character problem will be no more!
The simple things.
